Poila Baishak||Bengali New Year

Hello everyone and “Subho Noboborsho” 🙂

Hope you all are doing great in life!!

 Yes, I love fashion and I am immensely in love with this job of creating new looks every time and coming up with new blogs for you all, which in turn makes me really happy, but besides all these I am a true Bengali and I love my culture as well my city “Kolkata” with all my heart and having said so, it brings me to the conclusion that how can I not come up with a look specially for “Poila Baishak” or for The Bengali New Year.

So here I am with an all new blog, about a look that you can flaunt this Poila Baishak, a typical bengali look with everything from a saree to a bun to that signature ‘tip’ and much more. Now without any further intro let us now head straight to the look 🙂

What I wore..

Because it is for “Poila baishak”, I wanted to keep it as traditional as possible and for that my choice was this ‘totally-bangali’ muslin dhakai in off-white shade. I paired the saree with a tie-back fuchsia pink blouse with colourful work on the sleeves, to add colour, glamour and  more appeal to the whole look.

For Accessories..

  • For ears – I went with a big statement earring in gold tone with intricate pearl and kundan work on it.
  • For hands – Well-contrasted with my blouse, I stacked up some royal blue metallic bangles and to break the monotony of it, I added a chunky statement bangle halfway between the blue ones. Again this bangle is in gold tone with intricate pearl and kundan work on it – to match my earrings.
  • For nose – To top it of all, because it’s a Bengali look so I had to wear the “nakchabi” or nose pin and for that I just went with the normal diamond stud and the reason being, I felt that this would balance out the other pieces of jewellery worn here and won’t make the look over dramatic.

Makeup..

For makeup I did a full face heavy makeup – after all it’s “Poila Boishak”. I did copper smokey eyes with thick winged liner and added a pair of falsies, to create more drama. Matching the colour of my blouse I went with intense fuchsia lips and lastly a well structured properly contoured face with a lot of highlighting.

Hair..

To keep the look traditional and totally Bengali, I went with a low bun (wrapped around with real flowers) and a simple middle parting at the front.

Well yeah, so that’s all about the look. Go ahead and flaunt it this “Poila Boishak” and I am sure you are gonna make many heads turn. 🙂
